Irish Traditional Music on 3D Printed Melodica

4 Irish traditional tunes played on a 3D printed melodica by Daren Banarsë.

The tunes are called:
1) Glen Road to Garrick
2) Tuttle’s
3) Smugglers Reel
4) Dog Amongst the Bushes

The melodica has many similar similarities to the Irish concertina and the Irish accordion, both of which are, like the melodica, ‘reed’ instruments. Air is blown past a vibrating tongue to create the sound, and the pitch of the note is determined by the length of the tongue. The melodica can be seen as the right hand side of a piano accordion, where instead of the bellows, the air comes from the player’s lungs. Circular breathing helps to create the effect of a concertina.
