Hey Stefan, thanks for your offer to translate! I’m not currently researching the mechanics of the clavietta, so I don’t have an immediate need to read the translation. But I’m sure I’ll want to come back to this in the future. It would also be a great resource for anyone else looking into it, possibly helping them with a project

Wondering about the patent status and likelihood of anyone being able to produce another Claviola-style instrument (financed through crowdfunding, perhaps?), I spent a while searching the ‘net this morning. There certainly have been various suggestions over the years to try to replicate the instrument, alas with little to show so far.
Still, I did find this Accordionists forum thread, which may be of interest to some of you because it includes numerous photos of a disassembled Claviola.
Some of us have taken Claviettas apart in the past. I think it would be a lot easier and cheaper to restore one…
