ParticipantNot to be missed: Jon Batiste, melodica in hand, was the special guest on The Colbert Report yesterday (June 29).

ParticipantWow. Great performance at the end of the interview. Real entertainers. Wireless mic on the melodica. Loved the sound of the melodica and sax together. Great composition. This is a solid example of the professional-level music that the melodica is capable of producing.
Thanks for sharing that Alan.

ParticipantTried posting this from my email, but that never seems to work.
Batiste is promoting his new album, but his My N.Y. (downloadable on Amazon) is all street music. Yes, the trombone is great, but what about the tuba? Does it get any better than this? Mesmerizing. This guy could start his own religion.

ParticipantNo Colbert in the UK? YouTube apparently has an agreement with the Colbert Report, so unfortunately you also can’t get it there. But the other video is similar to the performance part and much longer. On Colbert, Batiste has what resembles the new gaudy Hohner Airboard, though I’m not sure that’s what it is.
