Thanks for the info. Do you know what could cause the noise that I hear. It’s a bit like when you raise the volume of the microphone too loud. This is not happening all the time on the same notes. But the weird thing about it is that it’s not so loud so people around me don’t hear it. I don’t think the problem comes from the reads. Maybe it’s because of the moisture inside? Hopefully this is not because of a drop on the floor. Can the case (back of the keyboard) protect the internal of the instrument when it happens. I guess I’m not the only one who accidentally dropped a melodica on the floor.

    Hello Daren,
Thanks for your answer. In the mean time, I opened it with a sighted person. Nothing seems to be broken physically. There was a lot of moisture inside. We cleaned that with alcohol. It’s still making that noise but I think the cleaning helped a bit. I guess the instrument is made like that. I was also wondering what my tuning app means when it says “Note C sharp centers 16 sharp” Does it means that reads have a problem?

    Hello,
I bought a P37ebk few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I accidentally dropped it on the floor few weeks after. It felt approximately one feet on the back of the instrument. Everything works well. The notes are sounding well and the spit valve also works well. The keyboard doesn’t have physical damages on it. My only concern is that when I play some notes, I sometimes hear a noise, like if I heard the note vibrating or something making noise inside. I don’t know if it was like that before. It sounds like the note is distortionning. Other people don’t hear it though. Unfortunately, I can’t take it apart because I’m completely blind. Did anyone have this problem before. I hope I didn’t break my melodica because this is a gift and very valuable to me.
    Regards,

    Hello,
I was playing few minutes ago and I noticed that, sometimes, some notes were distortionning when I was playing them. You know, when you speak too close of a microphone and the volume is too loud? Sometimes, it made that noise when I blew louder. The noise is not loud though and the notes seem to play well. I don’t know if it’s due to the fall or if it’s just normal. As I said, I’m unable to reproduce it all the time with a note. Sometimes I will hear the noise, sometimes not. Maybe this is a blowing issue? I hope that the reeds are not broken.

    Hello,
Thanks for your answer. Some notes seem a tiny bit untuned but I don’t think that this is due to the fall but rather to the fact that I play a lot with it. As for the spit valve, it seems okay. When I press on the button while playing a note, it lowers the sound of the note. As for the extra noise, you’re talking about when I shake it or play it? There is some noise for sure but I don’t know if it was there before the fall. I remember that the keys were noisy. As for my Hammond, it also fell on the floor twice. Everything is intact. I’m lucky: when I accidentally drop my instruments, they don’t break. I try to be as careful as I can because I love my instruments. Fortunately, drops don’t occur often.

    Hello Larry,
I’m not a professional at the melodica either. I never took piano lessons before and I started playing melodica about 3 years ago. Unfortunately, I can’t suggest you a book to buy because I play by hear. What I could suggest to do, however, is to look on YouTube if someone made a video on how to play the song that you want to play with the melodica. That’s what I do when I want to learn new songs. It also exists videos that show you the basics of the melodica. I hope that these suggestions will help you a little bit.

    Hello Melodica-Me,
Thanks for your answer. Your explainations were clear. I would have another question about d.i.i. Tonight, I had a music practise and when we tried to plug the melodica in the mixer with a passive d.i.i, it didn’t work. I thought I broke the melodica’s 1/4 input when trying plugging headphones last week. However, we tried with a guitar amplifier and it worked. At my school, we also have active d.i.i. Our plan is to plug my melodica in the mixer with an active d.i.i next week. If we do that, would it break the melodica because of the power of the active d.i.i. Another of my friends told me that sending electricity in an instrument that did not required power could break the input jack. I hope my explainations were clear. English is not my first language and I don’t know a lot about mixers, sound and all of that.

    Hello Melodica-Me,
Thanks for your answer. What would I need to buy in order for it to work? If I plug in a standard guitar amplifier, would it work? If I understood correctly, it doesn’t need additional power to work. My friend was telling me about fantome power mixers that deliver 48 voltes of energy. I guess I shouldn’t plug it in this kind of mixers.

    Hello Melodica-Me,
Thanks for your answer. I watched the videos you linked and I read the reviews. My biggest worry is to find it too heavy. I currently have a Suzuki M37C. I ordered the hp44 on Amazone. Do you think I will be able to return it if I don’t like it?

English: I understand your concerns. Few weaks ago I thought my Suzuki M37C had a problem. Certain notes were blocked when I blew louder into the melodica. However, when I blew normally, everything was working correctly. I was avaible to reproduce the bug with my other melodicas so I figured out I might have blown too loud. I would recommendou to keep playing with it and if you continue to have this problem and it perturbs your playing, I would suggest you to send it in repair as well.

    Bonjour Frédéric,
Je ne suis pas certain de bien comprendre votre problème. Vous avez de la difficulté à jouer certaines notes? Pourriez-vous me réexpliquer votre problème? Au plaisir de vous aider.

P.S. For those who don’t speak French, I asked him to reexplain me his issue. French is my first langage too.

    Hello,
I was able to join the provider of the music store where they send them to repair. The guy told me that it was maybe a way of getting used to blow of a certain way. He doesn’t think something is wrong with the reads. However, he offered me to send it for repair if the problem persists. So I will try to play normally with it to see if it really impacts my dayly playing and if so I will send it to repair. The guy told me that it was normal that not all the reads react the same way to the ammount of air pression. I will update you if something new happens with this melodica. Once again, Alan, thank you for your help.

    Hello Alan,
Thanks for the info. I think I will bring it to the store where I bought it eventually to see what they can do with this. I called them today and they told me that it would take few weaks to send to the company. I would be interested to know how to fixe this. I tried with my Hohner Performer 37 and it doesn’t do this. The good news is I can still use it by blowing softly into it. Overall, I’m very satisfact about this melodica. I like it.
