To keep things on topic:
Your simple trick works! No problem with the H36 PRO anymore. Just let it rest upside down (I use my saxophone stand as I have no melodica stand). The high D doesn’t clog up anymore…
Thanks a lot!

May 23, 2014 at 7:05 am #2361Mauricio BernalParticipantA balloon inflator, or any electric pump, makes quite some unwanted noise.
May 22, 2014 at 5:07 pm #2356Mauricio BernalParticipantCould someone explain why this works? I see many tubes… Maybe a drawing would work.
May 22, 2014 at 4:54 pm #2355Mauricio BernalParticipantI’m still interested ^_^
May 20, 2014 at 10:02 am #2335Mauricio BernalParticipantThanks for all the tips guys!
Still waiting for the pictures jazzman1945 promised – I’m inclined to make such a “release-tube” myself.
May 19, 2014 at 8:41 am #2330Mauricio BernalParticipantWhere do you buy a melodica stand?
May 18, 2014 at 4:06 pm #2327Mauricio BernalParticipantAbsolutely!!! I would love to see some pictures!!!
May 17, 2014 at 6:58 pm #2325Mauricio BernalParticipantNo, the key is good. The reed stops working (no sound) because of moisture build-up. I’ve tried both to blow or to suck out the moisture but it’s not working – even blowing in the moisture release.
Like I said… in the Pro 36 the air gets channeled all the way to the high keys – so that’s where the moisture builds up.
May 17, 2014 at 6:06 pm #2323Mauricio BernalParticipantNext problem: when I play a lot – my high D gets stuck (with moisture). When I open and clean it’s gone… But it’s only this reed that has problems… any idea why? Or should I post a foto of the reed?
May 16, 2014 at 9:45 pm #2318Mauricio BernalParticipantIt’s a shame they stopped manufacturing this product. The professional is great but in my opinion the only great melodica Hohner made. After this one, Yamaha and Suzuki/Hammond follow. Maybe I’ll write them a letter to say the Japanse have surpassed their own invention… But is honor still a factor in this day and age? Does Hohner have Hohner?
As promised the picture:
There is a metal shaft that basically started dropping and showed a gap. I glued the space with 2K and now it is working fine. What a joy it is playing on this instrument!
May 16, 2014 at 8:56 am #2309Mauricio BernalParticipantYeah, I see Bees wax was indeed used by manufacturing. I used 2k glue… Anyhow, The Melodica is playable again and I’m enjoying it a lot! Next time when I open it I’ll take some pictures.
May 15, 2014 at 10:49 pm #2306Mauricio BernalParticipantGot it. For an interesting reason probably to evade water build-up the Hohner 36 Pro channels the wind to the end of the melodica and brings it into an air chamber. The fitting at the end was moved and was letting air escape. I glued the cracks where air was leaking and the problem is solved.
May 15, 2014 at 9:48 pm #2305Mauricio BernalParticipantIt is a Professional 36 Melodica. The air seems to be escaping from everywhere. I have opened it and I can see the reeds immediately. Is this normal? Just wondering if I’m missing something.
