Thanks for the info Daren. 3D printed concertinas are a rarity, but it seems 3D printed melodicas are ahead of the game.

April 11, 2023 at 3:16 am #14801Jim RParticipantMelodica Me, did you win the auction? I hope so.

August 20, 2019 at 7:05 am #10924Jim RParticipantSorry for the late reply. My Clavietta leaks as much air as I put into it. Yours?
August 14, 2019 at 3:55 am #10921Jim RParticipantCongrats on the new Clavietta. I recently scored one on ShopGoodwill that needs some work.
January 24, 2019 at 7:37 am #10631Jim RParticipantI have not purchased any of the books you will see on the link below, but I have the page bookmarked in case I decide to. Peruse the titles, maybe one will be just what you need.
October 24, 2018 at 6:21 am #10363Jim RParticipantEarwigs are also a sign of healthy ground. Not in your melodica either, I hope!
December 18, 2017 at 7:05 am #9537Jim RParticipantOf course you’re correct, Melodica-Me, The springs made on the jig I posted are used to raise the button after it has been depressed. One end of the spring is ‘stuck’ in the wood of what I think is called the action plate, which is where all the rods that are connected to buttons are anchored. The other spring end (the end with the horseshoe bent into it) is placed under the rod, keeping the button in place.
I hope that’s clear.
December 17, 2017 at 7:08 am #9530Jim RParticipantThis video shows making springs for an entirely different instrument (a concertina), but no expenditure required.
