I’m a bit worried about taking it apart as I don’t want to risk breaking anything
I bought a vintage hohner piano 26 and it smells a bit funky, is it ok to give it a bath? I ask as the original post says not to bath a 37
My melodica madness continues, after watching many many youtube videos I decided I would like a vintage Hohner piano 26 so it arrived today still had one of the original mouth pieces unused sealed in it’s original bag.

Might be a long shot but could you flip the existing reed over – or remove it and try to straighten it?
Funny now that I have a melodica I’m hearing them all over the place in songs from my youth

Took it apart and cleaned it last night… and glad I did the inside was boggin, I found the remains of a 1980s spider. Keys are still a bit discoloured but it’s all clean. And I had to replace the bit of foam that separates the mouth piece from the main chamber as it had totally degraded and was crumbling.
