Using an air pump or bellows to play chords?

Has anyone experimented with using some kind of pump or bellows so that you can play chords to accompany yourself singing? I imagine there are a whole load of problems with getting the right pressure, continuous flow etc so before I ruin one of my instruments by trying this out I thought I’d find out if any of you have any ideas? I was wondering if the bellows they use with uilleann pipes might be a possibility?
