Checked to see what was new for Jon Batiste this morning. Some great stuff. First an interview (sort of) — he has a 32 key melodica in hand. It’s been painted up. Can anybody tell what it is? Second, the first of a series of his group’s session at the Jazz San Javier Festival (be sure to follow up on the subsequent segments). Great sound and great video, and what can be said about the playing?
