I’m trying to work out what the Pianica reed plates are made from. One of them has recently turned a strange colour, and I’m sure this could provide some clues as to the compositional make up.

The green deposits around the base of the tongues seem to indicate copper. Though the tongues themselves are plated, because when I scrape them for tuning, they reveal a silvery colour, which turned black with moisture.

Any metal experts out there?
