I played a melodica all my life. I think they’re getting more popular now

Do you think so Jimmmy? I thought they were more popular in the 50s? Maybe things are about to change 🙂

I don’t know about the 50’s, but if video performances are any indication of popularity. I have an RSS feed for YouTube videos labeled melodica and it seems I get at least a dozen posted a day.

Please share any really interesting ones with us Kevin! Personally I’m interested in virtuoso players and new instruments/mods 🙂

Here is my playlist I have assembled over the last few years of videos I found either musically inspiring, virtuosic or technically innovative.
Of particular note is Masa Masuda perhaps the best player I have found and James Howard Young’s transcriptions of Bach for overdubbed soprano, alto and bass melodicas.

Thanks so much for that Kevin. Lots of stuff for me to listen to! 🙂
