Hello I was wondering if there is a paved road for this? Is holding a melodica to a regular vocal mic good enough with a “i’m using a melodica in the next song” signal to the sound engineer behind the panels? I’m in a ska-rocksteady-dub formation and besides trombone I’m getting fairly good at creating melodica melodies. As most of you will know most sound engineers (or whatever you call them, in Holland we call them soundmen hehe) don’t know anything when it comes to everything else then guitars and drums. Would you suggest buying a separate mic for this?
