The most effective gasket tape I have found is Vacuum Gasket Tape For Clamping, 3/8″ x 1/8″, from Veneer Supplies, an Internet source that can be found by Googling. I had forgotten where I bought this. A 41 foot roll is currently $11.95 (U.S.) plus shipping. It has very effective adhesive on one side. It is easily cut with scissors into narrower strips. It is a foamy material that compresses.
The other gasket tape I’ve mentioned is Saint-Gobain 100S Strip-N-Stick Silicone Gasket Tape, 30′ Length, 1/2″ Width, 1/16″ Thick, available from Amazon for $15.45 for a 30 foot roll. It is better for some applications but does not adhere as well so usually needs a bit of glue.
Application of both these kinds of tape is very easy. Double-sided tapes, sometimes called “mounting tape,” are easy to find and may have some melodica repair applications.
