Fool on the hIll bass harmnonicas and ramblings

I just watched a cover band, the analogues, and they reproduced Fool on The Hill by the Beatles.
They are dedicated to using instruments of the time period for an accurate sound.
If you happen to search Fool on the HIll covers you can find them, But the point is the bass harmonicas they use, a Honner and a Suzuki bass, both are huge and it curious to think that those instruments were around so long ago, mid 60’s. Those harmonicas are very expensive, I checked, too much for me, but really they are a background sound not a lead melody maker.
On another note a bass suzuki melodica is not terrible expensive, its costly but nothing like those bass harmonicas, I wonder if anyone on the forum has tried a bass melodica?
