Can anyone tell which bass register melodica is used in this “Melodica Men” rendition of Night on Bald Mountain? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWdlx0P4Usg

Screengrab of video mentioned in post, red melodica in foreground

It’s the red one in the foreground but doesn’t appear to be a Suzuki B-24. It actually sounds better imo than any B-24 demos I’ve been able to find too! (Although I note he’s octave-doubling the notes which might contribute?) The finish around the mouthpiece connection makes it look a cut above something they might have just been testing from Alibaba. Anyone recognize it?

Hmm, I noticed the B-24 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkHkMnNsSGY has labelling perhaps more similar to the Melodica Men one than the product pictures I’ve seen online. (I also contacted the group through their website, so there’s a chance I’ll get a proper authoritative answer.)

I think it’s the Suzuki B-24. The The Hammond BB (B-24) I have only seen in black. From it and from recordings of the acoustic Hammond BB I have heard and from what others have said, I believe the sound is the same and it is essentially the same instrument. The mouthpiece tube attachment looks a little odd. Possibly there’s some kind of adapter there.

Yes, looking more closely I almost wonder if they connected the tube with hot-melt adhesive 🙂
