Greetings! On and off melodica player, primarily a guitarist, occasionally I pull out my Hohner Piano 32. I’m trying to use it for a comedic dance performance that goes on tomorrow, and the spit valve broke completely off, so air simply flows through the opening. Duct tape isn’t cutting it. Does anyone know of 1) a good short-term solution to get volume out of it to compete with a medium amplified electric guitar (not particularly loud, but still amplified) and/or 2) a long-term fix for the issue?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Have you tried putting duct tape or electrical tape on the inside of the cover? Are we talking about the rubber flap mechanism, which is what’s on both of my Piano 32s?
That is a solid idea. Yes, the rubber flap is indeed what broke.
