Yes, accordion style reeds are single reeds.
I think you have to remember that the Yamaha P37D, the Angel, and most other melodicas are all very similar in design. There isn’t a huge difference between them sound wise or playability. I don’t think you’ll find any ‘totally different creatures’ among them!
