the reed plates were attached with screws. it appears that the sealer may have been put down first, then the reed plates were attached. the plates were bronze. I have not opened my piano 36, so I can’t say if they are the same or not. Maybe I will pop the back off the piano 36 and compare. I don’t think the reed plates are a replacement for single reeds, but I honestly didn’t think of that when I was looking at it. I will scrutinize more thoroughly next time. 8^)

I ordered some reed wax. When it arrives I will open things up and share what I find. I am rather surprised this is garnering such interest. I thought I was asking a rather mundane question. 8^P
