I see that this thread is already six years old. Well, I just got a used one from an online vendor. I immediately disassembled it for sanitation purposes, and it’s a PAIN to reassemble. The leaks could probably due to the seals–they are no longer supple enough to be airtight, hence the “leakiness.” Unless you have fresh gaskets for this thing, DO NOT remove the cartridge.

Looks like the last resort will be to use caulk.Or will automotive gasket work? Who knows.
